Emily Marino, Head Coach

Emily Marino begins her third season as the head softball coach at Joliet Junior College.


Last season, Coach Marino led her team to a 21-27 overall record, while finishing second in the competitive N4C conference with an 11-5 record. With a 5-3 victory over the College of DuPage, the Lady Wolves forced a tie breaking Region IV championship game. Joliet lost a heartbreaker to DuPage with an 8-7 score to become the runners-up.

In her initial season as head coach, Coach Marino guided her squad to a 28-21 overall record, finished second in the N4C conference, and earned runners-up in the Region IV championship.
 
Over the past two seasons, she has accumulated a 49-48 overall record while coaching eleven N4C all-conference players, nine all-region players, and two NJCAA Division III All-Americans.

Marino is a graduate of Joliet Catholic Academy in Joliet, IL (1997). At JCA, she was a standout volleyball, basketball, and softball player earning 10 varsity letters. This March, Emily will be inducted into the East Suburban Catholic Conference Hall of Fame, Class of 2008 for her accomplishments throughout her high school career.

Marino went on to play softball at the University of Florida where she was a four-year starting catcher/first baseman. She holds numerous records including career leader in RBIs (150), walks (138), and on-base percentage (.409). She is second in games started (267) along with third in home runs (28), and games played (269). She is fourth in hits (217) and ranks sixth on Florida's all-time list for batting average (.296).

Emily is a 2001 graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in recreational science. After graduation, Marino spent the summer of 2001 in Italy playing professional softball. She then moved to Nashville, TN where she was employed at Worth Club K as a softball instructor.
