Emily Marino begins her sixth season as the head softball coach at Joliet Junior College.

Last season the Lady Wolves had an overall record of 19-28 and finished with a 5-5 N4C conference record. Over the past five seasons, Marino has accumulated an 102-131 overall record while coaching 21 N4C all-conference players, 16 all-region players, and three NJCAA Division III All-Americans. She earned her 100th coaching victory on 4/27/10 in a 2-0 win over the College of Lake County.

Marino is a graduate of Joliet Catholic Academy in Joliet, Ill. At JCA, she was a standout volleyball, basketball, and softball player earning 10 varsity letters. In 2008, she was inducted into the East Suburban Catholic Conference Hall of Fame for her accomplishments throughout her high school career.

Marino went on to play softball at the University of Florida where she was a four-year starting catcher/first baseman. She holds records for walks (138) and is tied for first in intentional walks (9). She is second in RBI's (150) and games started (267) along with third in games played (269). She ranks fifth for fielding percentage (.988), putouts (1169), and doubles (41). She is sixth in hits (217), on-base percentage (.409), and home runs (28). She sits at eleventh on Florida's all-time list for batting average (.296).

Coach Marino is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in recreational science. After graduation, she spent a summer in Italy playing professional softball. She then moved to Nashville, Tenn., where she was employed at Worth Club K as a softball instructor. This past May, Emily earned her Master's degree from Northwestern University in sports management.

Marino currently resides in Joliet, Ill.
